Welcome to Pure Yoga. My name is Leesa & since 2001 I’ve helped thousands of women over 40 live a more abundant & joyful life through Yoga, Pilates, Meditation, Self care, Retreats, Education & Essential Oils … Let’s get to know one another!!
“I like so many things about yoga … It helps me focus, increases my flexibility, helps my balance (mental and physical), allows me to slow down and reduces feelings of stress and anxiety. I enjoy being part of the Pure Yoga community and I love the fact that yoga is non-competitive! Your whole approach is so grounded and, at the same time, so nurturing. I am thankful for this in my life” … Julia, Peakhurst
YOGA
Yoga originated in India about 5,000 years ago and is so much more than a series of poses that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
I believe Yoga is a philosophy that engulfs all parts of life & can be spiritual & enlightening, but in reality Yoga is whatever you want it to be!!
PILATES
Pilates is a total body exercise, developed almost 100 years ago by Joseph Pilates, to rehabilitate injured WW1 soldiers and later, for strength & conditioning of dancers.
Joseph Pilates has famously said … “In 10 sessions you will feel a difference, in 20 sessions you will see a difference and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body” …
MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, & aware of where you are, what you’re doing, and not being reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you.
Mindfulness is more than just meditation or a practice you might perform once a day … It’s what is going on both inside & outside of your mind & body.
“Pilates has been a revelation to my physicality … improving core strength and balance and really benefiting my yoga practice. I attribute Pilates to helping me feel strong during pregnancy and bouncing back physically quite quickly after a c section.” … Alison, Peakhurst Heights
